I bought FSX from the steam sale a week ago and have been flying/crashing quite a bit.

What are some good add-ons or aircraft that I need?

I usually mess around in airliners, right now the 737 is my favorite but I really want to buy the Aerosim 787 to try.

@AlwaysFSX

@Flyguygamer

You guys might have some input.

I turned crash detection all the way up and finally managed to get the 747 safely on the ground last night :P that pig was not meant to fly.

If you do altitude hold it flies up and down but doesnt really hold the alt

That is one problem I really havent seen. Hmm.

Thanks for the info, I will keep my eye on the Altimeter even with an Alt hold on.

I have had the 747 speed vary a lot even with a speed hold on during level flight.

A ton of free things to get.

Thanks, I'll have to have a look through it.

Some are good, others not.

Trial and error.

man, I remember playing the old FS games with my grandpa. He used to take it really serious, trying his hardest to land big jets as smoothly as he could. I used to take the small light aircraft and crash em into towers. Good times.

Yeah I did that too when I had FS 2002, I dont think I successfully landed an aircraft in free flight for a couple years lol

REX is a must. There's a free pack of 747 & 737 liveries out there that I remember if which were good quality. Since I've been out of the loop for a while go to Cessna154 on YouTube and check his freeware and payware reviews. There's a lot of interesting things you can find.

(We should go do a group flight when possible, I miss flying but have no computer at the moment.)

Never had that happen to me.

Go up to 30000 feet, put in in altitude hold and the simulation rate to x16. Then look at the condensation trails. Also you can check the altimeter in the cockpit.

I'll have to make a note of that for when I can fly again.
