Hey,

Alright I hope everyone had a good Christmas or the holiday you celebrate!

Down to buisness.

I've been designing a new build for alittle while now, and I've recently finished it. I wanted some feedback and see if anyone has suggestions.

I'm linking the build because I don't want to type it again. :(

Thanks Guys!

Sorry if I put this in the wrong place

430w PSU?  You're limiting yourself a bit with that, aren't you?

AMD FX-6300 @ 4.5ghz (1.332v) | Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Asus M5A97 R2.0 | Kingston HyperX 16GB @ 1600mhz | MSI Radeon R9 290 Twin Frozr

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w PSU | 256GB Samsung 850 PRO SSD | 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 | Zalman Z11 Plus

That's an awfully expensive case for that price range; could you swallow some of your taste in design and get a cheaper one? You could definitely upgrade something else if you got a cheaper case.

Also I've recently been hearing that the CX series PSU's use terrible capacitors. I'd recommend something from EVGA or SeaSonic, or just a more expensive PSU line for Corsair.

My build: tis be ordered

Thanks for the feedback! (Directed at everyone)

My second choice was a Carbide Series 300R windowed. That seem like a better choice?

A RM series corsair PSU was another choice, but is there any other brand or series you would reccomend?

Dump the FX-6300 platform. You're spending $300 on the platform (MoBo, CPU, and Cooler) and you can get an i5-4690k, z97 MoBo, and 212 Evo for that price if you live near a microcenter and can pick it up in store. However with your total budget, you can just get an i5-4440 and h81 which still beats the pants off of the FX-6300 in gaming, save the money, and put it towards the GPU. You also don't want to sacrifice real in-game performance for boot/load times (at least, I wouldn't), so I'd do without the SSD and put that also towards real performance parts like the GPU. Lastly, the Case is very expensive, and again doesn't help with performance. You can save a bunch here too. This is what I would do instead for the same price, and it's better on every level that matters for gaming:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($179.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: Sandisk X110 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($49.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card  ($249.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Core 2500 ATX Full Tower Case  ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($39.99 @ NCIX US)

And hey look, I even managed to fit in a better SSD. You can choose to forego the SSD or HDD (I noticed you didn't include one in your build) and use a Z97/i5-4690k/212Evo if you like. I also noticed you included Windows in your build, but not the price of it so I left it out. Overall, this is a strictly better build. Remember, as far as case choice, all it does it hold components and have airflow. That's it.

Get windows from G2A.com , it's much cheaper there. ( yes it's legit, and buy windows 8.1!) And yes the PSu is overkill but that's for Xfire in the future.

This build will slay your build at only 10% more of the cost.

Actually, I would change the case out for this one:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/silverstone-case-rl04b

But then again , cases really come down to personal preference, just get anything from the major brands ( CM, Corsair, Phantecs , FD etc.)

For questions just PM me @BetaCassiopeiae

G2A isn't legit. They obtain dreamspark licenses (only available to students) under false pretenses and sell them unlawfully to the buyer (again, not supposed to be transferrable). The licenses are not legitimately obtained or sold, and expire after 2 years from original date of purchase from dreamspark (NOT when sold to you).

I wouldn't ever buy from them.

This is not true, this is a rumor. Only about 20% of those licenses are ''fake''. A buddy of mine works there and he told me how come they are so cheap. The main reason is that when obsolete OEM keys ( E.g. outdated pc's that aren't sold anymore/transferred to other regions) actually lose the OEM key that the manufacturer ( Often in large quantities) bought. They have connects with some of these guys and can sell the keys via G2A. Sometimes you're just out of luck and you''ll get some fake keys that only work for 2 years.

Nevertheless until Microsoft decides to make a proper OS I will always use the Bay. I've bought XP and windows 7 with my money but windows 8 , no way.

I have slightly changed the build and wanted some opinions. I'm hoping I can get this build started soon!

I've looked for a PSU to replace the Corsair one, after earlier replys had suggested it be changed because of its quality, but have not been able to find anything. :( Thoughts anyone?
