im keeping the Xeon in there for a few reasons :

i was planning on getting a 4790k or a 4770k but i changed to the xeon because , an unlocked processor adds price , i dont want to overclock and if i get the xeon it cant even over clock and its less expensive. the xeon proforms the same and in some scenarios even better than an i7 4790k and the 4770k , the i7s have intergrated graphics and that adds price. i wont be needing that so its a waste :(

but xeon does not have any intergrated graphics so no more price, with the xeon you only pay for proformance imo and its also more reliable and will last longer  , its rated for 24/7 operation . and again proforms the same as a i7

Then it was stupid getting that mobo... You could've chose something cheaper...

Also, i hope it doesn't happen, but if it happens that your GPU dies, you'll always have iGPU to fall back on so you could use your PC for basic computing :D

It depends on you, but i think it's stupid not to spec 30$~ for a K I7 with that mobo :)

I'd replace that cooler, maybe a 212 EVO with some NFF 12's?

There's no point getting the xeon and the H55 since the cpu is locked and the H55 isn't really quieter than the stock cooler. You might as well skip the cooler and get the 4790k. The e3-1246 doesn't hold a candle to oc'ed i7's.

i know the mobo thing was overkill but it looks awesome :3

You wouldn't be nearly as strapped for cash if you went for a cheaper one. --just saiyan.

What's the system being used for?

Why such a large case? Are you planning to water cool?

This works out cheaper than your initial spec.

The i7 is definately worth it over the xeon even if you don't overclock. The i7 has a higher clock speed out of the box.

EVGA G2 psu is cheaper and better than the corsair. It will be good for SLI if you plan on that later on.

980's aren't really worth getting over 970's.
