How fast is your boot time?

So I just put together a new build and wanted to record the boot time before I started loading stuff on the computer. I'm using a samsung 850 pro 1tb and running windows 8.1 on it. My times are 28 seconds from the start button to the windows password screen, and 6 seconds from typing in the password to the spinning circle stoping on the desktop. What are your times on your rigs?

Faster then my old pc.

 

I have to choose operating systems everytime I boot up which adds ~2 seconds. so around 10.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

about 30 +/-10% seconds timed from power switch till core temp popping up (its the only thing i have that does pop up).
my POST takes about 8 seconds, windows7 flag takes about 15 seconds (i swear its a locked animation that cant be made to go faster).
minus those and you're looking at about 5 seconds overall, (1 seconds of "welcome" and 4 seconds of things actually loading on the desktop).
hang on will restart and time it.

Just timed it at 14 seconds from pushing the power button to opening up Firefox. This is including typing in a password. Im also using the supposedly bad Kingston V300 120GB SSD.

If you're trying to reduce boot times, go into task manager and disable anything non-essential during "system start."

Mine is about a minute and a half thereabouts. Still using an HDD as my boot drive.

I have a 8 year old HDD as my boot drive because my WD blacks had issues

2-5 minutes when booting off my 2.5" sata 2 laptop drive, 7-10min when booting off my 2.5" sata 1 laptop drive, 1-2 minutes when booting off my WD Caviar Blue,  6-9 seconds from start button being depressed to desktop on corsair LS 60GB SSD (post is longer or shorter depending on how many drives I have plugged in).

Like 13 seconds including motherboard splash screen, about 8 without it (timer starting right after the splash screen disappears).

 

5 seconds... SSD helps alot.

Why is mine so slow ? This is my first build and maybe I didn't do something right. Should a brand new 850 pro have a total start time of over 30 sec? I haven't done any overclocking yet if that matters, just loaded the os and updated the drivers.

I helped him setup his SSD but while we were installing it he dropped his HDD and it refused to work after that

You guys could make a YouTube video series called "How Not To Build a PC" and have you both dropping various components and putting them in the wrong place and ultimately frying the whole build. :D
