AMD or Intel

Go to solution Solved by vlkn´,

Ahh I see I'd be using XSplit with a background HD Webcam and music in the background would the i7 4790K be able to handle that?

If it wouldn´t. I don´t know what else would be able to handle that

So I've been thinking about buying a PC for a while now but I've got this nagging thought going through my head which is whether to go Intel + NVidia or AMD.

I am going to be using the PC to play PC Games and Livestream.

Is there really a big performance between the two builds?

major huge difference!

like 75% better for Intel vs the AMD

Is that due to the 4790K being hyperthreaded?

not really but picture this

the i5 4690K crushes the FX8350 already

imagine what the i7 could do to poor FX

No its because in general intel rapes amd at single core performance and games dont use 8 cores..

not only that, it is the fact, that the intel processors have more performance on one core than amd cores in general on one core.

And in the most games, the single core performance counts.

But doesn't Livestreaming need a lot of cores?

You livestream? what programme do you use and what CPU percentage is your CPU generally at whilst streaming?

I used to "test" livestreaming, with Nvidia Geforce Shadowplay. It let´s you stream your desktop/games and your webcam to twitch.

The usage was about 60% to max 70%
