ASRock Z97 Extreme4 Motherboard

Go to solution Solved by vlkn´,

I´ve heard that many people are lucky with this model and still using it.

Edit: But I would recommend you Msi, because fanboy hahahahahaha
Edit Edit: Yeah, seems almost like a 50/50% chance of getting a defective or a working mainboard

Edit Edit Edit (haha): I recommend you to choose a different model/ brand.

Has anybody used this mobo? Is it good? Would you recommend it? Ive heard it dies after a few weeks of operation, is this true?

I had the AMD version of this MOBO and I've had some issues, it has also messed with my CPU a bit. So now I'm looking into buying an i7. SO my opinion would be to stay away from ASRock

A lot of people say to stay away from ASRock but I own a ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and it has been great so far (Had it for about a year) :) Also my dad has a FM2 A75 ASRock motherboard and it's been great also. The motherboard looks pretty good but I would rather go with a Gigabyte Z97 motherboard instead.

My Current Build:

Intel i5 3570K @ 4.4GHz 1.11V, Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, Asrock Z77 Extreme4, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Asus GTX 760 DCII Overclocked, Corsair CX600M

If you are buying ASRock on Intel right now, and you don't want to spend a lot of money. Skip the ASRock Extreme4 and go with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer.

So what would you recommend? Something blue and black in that price range is preferable

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157500  -higher price +colours you want +dual lan port (server use) + moaare usb ports + different mainboard layout with different audio design +much lower failrate!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130775 +low price +colours you want + features like the asrock - lower audio chip with a amplifier not that loud as the asrocks

I would take the Asrock Extreme6, because of the dual lan ports and better audio amplifier.

bra <.< do you even need to overclock it "K" Cpu needed and use sli/crossfire?

overclocking+ crossfire (only 2 amd graphicscards) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157521

overclocking + crossfire+ sli (2 amd or 2 nvidia cards) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157506

gaming +crossfire +no overclocking support+ mr crabs syndrom (saved me some $´s)  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157512

more than enough for gaming.

If not take the Msi if you like the colours :D

I don´t know how expensive they are and where you can get them, but search for the MSI Mpower z97 (not the ac edition) mainboard. I think you´ll like it.

It looks nice, but doesnt match my color scheme :/ and its a bit expensive. I think im gonna go with the MSI Z97S SLI Plus, what do you think?
