Is the R9 290 worth it?

NewEgg has the XFX Double Dissipation R9 290 for $269.99 USD and I was wondering if it is worth that price or not seeing as my PC could definitely use a new GPU

I got my 290x for 550 USD and i still think it is worth it.

You mean $360? The only 970 that is even appealing to me is the EVGA Card.

i would save some bucks to get the zotac 970, if you want to have a superior card.

Go get it bruh, just make sure your casing have great airflow since the cooler is not that great.

I wouldn't want an open box GPU from MicroCenter, I've had bad experiences with those.

Of course that's a great deal. Man though, yesterday newegg had the Asus DirectCU II R9 290x for $280 after rebate. It's up to $360 today. :(

 

Most of November they had the Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290 for $250 after rebate, but now it's $280 after rebate.

Why the i5 over the FX-8350?
