Fx 8350 to i7 4790K?

So recently my PC has been having some issues first they were CPU issues then they were MOBO issues. I was going to just buy a new MOBO because that has the most issues. But one thing that caught my eye was the price of an i7 4790K at microcenter. It is being sold for $250 and you can get it with a motherboard for $40 off. I was wondering if it is worth doing this. I know that the i7 is obviously a better over all CPU, but is it worth another $350 or so for it and a new MOBO.

Thanks in advance.

For that price? Definately, that's an extremly good price for an i7, especially the K varients.

Is it worth it to you is a better question, can you justify the purchase - if not an i5-4690k will be just as good for you.

If you find the price is abit steep. You can opt for the i5 4690k. Any upgrade from AMD to Intel i5 is a big upgrade imo

What are your uses?  For just gaming go with the i5.  Content creation (video/photo editing, rendering, and streaming), opt for the i7.

If you're just gaming then get an i5-4690k.

If you're doing editing and content creation then get the i7-4790k.

Honestly whichever one costs the least for the features they provide would be the one I would pick.
