Hey guys, my laptop overheats far to easily, and i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a custom laptop cooling system. or if cooling pads with fans preinstalled are a viable option.


CPU Intel I7-4700MQ @2.4 ghz, turbos to 3.4 

Motherboard  whatever toshiba put in the thing

RAM 8GB 1600mhz 

GPU  Nvidia Geforce GT 740M  

Storage 750Gb 5400rpm   

Cooling  Crappy laptop fan 

Operating System  windows 8 64 bit

Depends on the laptop but 99% of the time a cooling pad will serve you pretty well. Most only need a spare USB port for powering the fans but just have a look around on Amazon or similar for a good one.

 

It could just be dust clogging up the heatsinks on your laptop, if you're feeling up to it, look into taking it apart and giving it a good clean through (Especially if it's an older laptop and has been used quite a bit)

Not sure how you plan that but there aren't really any options like that using liquid cooling that's feasible, if it's a desk laptop that you leave on or use like a desktop I would suggest to remove the bottom cover for better airflow and place it on a cooling mat as long as you don't mind the look.

Just clean it out with compressed air and replace the thermal paste.

already did, got a 2 degree difference
