Got a pretty cheap case at the moment and want something that still has a window so I can admire the goodness but something that dampens sound well as I am going down the silent road when it comes to upgrading parts, anyone got any cases in mind?

+1 fractal design R4 or Arc Midi/Mini (mATX)

your case is going to be as good as your loudest device..

Windowed panels can't be sound-dampened though so generally windowed and sound-dampened are mutually exclusive :\

Fractal uses a thicker acrylic than most cases, so it's not that bad. and as Airdeano said, your computer is as loud as your loudest device.

I'd go with the Fractal Design R4. I don't have the windows as I don't see the point of it, but it's very quiet and looks good too.

I agree I think the fractal design r4 looks bad. The only fractal design case that I like is the arc xl.
