Hi, I just installed my new FX 8350 and played some BF4, the fan started to spin really fast making it very loud, then I opened CAM and my CPU was at 70-73°C, is that normal? Im using the stock heatsink, but one thing, for some reason the stock hetasink it came with doesnt have the AMD sticker on the center of the fan and on the sides it says "cooler master" could this be the issue? maybe its not the "original heatsink" and thats casung problems? Im running my cpu at stock speeds, no overclock, thanks for your help!

Can you give us a photo? Where roughly are you located? What us the rough temp in your room?

When i had the stock cooler on my 8320 over the summer (no A.C.) my chip was getting really hot.

EDIT: what case/fans do you have?

Cooler master is the stock heatsink OEM.

That is a bit of a problem, and the stock coolers don't do a very good job. The chip can survive at that temperature, but not for too long. Get a new cooler asap.

Generally accepted temperatures are 70c for benchmarking/stress test only, 65c for short term stresses, and 62c or lower for 24/7 operation.

Okay, I can not give you a photo because for some reasom cam doesnt want to open anymore, I live in Mexico and the "average" temperature in winter is like 17-20°C, probably in my room the temp is 25°C maybe beacuse of the PC, my case is an NZXT Phantom 410 it only has the three fans it comes with. My motherboard is also new and its a Gigabye 970A-UD3P. Any aftermarkets heatsink you recommend?

Yeah, that's pretty normal for the stock heatsink.

A good enough one that is stupid cheap would be the Cooler Master Hyper TX3, but the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is definetly better.

62 is the max! dont let it run past that for long periods of time. You need better cooling.

Have a FX 8370 + 212 Evo here, max temp on games like BF4 around 50C. The highest ive ever seen it is 62C on Beamng Drive, which if you didn't know is a very realistic soft body physics game. So its very CPU intensive.

But thats the max/peak recorded temp anyway, its not a clear indication of how the CPU is doing overall.

Stock cooler is OK, but not long term, a 212 Evo will do great in your system.

As a matter of fact why don't they just not include one and make the CPU cheaper for the consumer?
