No, I trust PCPartpicker and if they say it won't fit then I'd trust them.

Go for a low profile cooler like the EVGA ITX cooler or a Scythe Rasetsu if you can still find one. It would appear the 212 is too tall for this narrow case you have ordered. You should return the 212 or sell it as BNIB on a forum or craigslist.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

no offence but if the maths adds up, (case is 198.11 mm wide and the evo 212 dimensions are  120x80x159mm) the dimension of the case vs the heatsink dimension shows it would fit very well. is there another reason of why pcpartpicker doesnt match the case with the evo 212?

It might Just about fit.

This link from Vortez shows a Noctua NH-U12P installed in the Spec 01 case.

http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/corsair_carbide_spec_01_review,8.html

According to Noctua website the U12P is 158mm tall.

http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=14&lng=en&set=1

The Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212 is 159mm tall according to CM site.

Sorry, I just trust PCPartpicker a lot more than myself when recommending parts since the site is run by a group of experienced builders.

Though I realize that the site isn't perfect and sometimes even experienced builders make mistakes.

If the sight is incorrect then I'm sorry for giving false info.

no problem at all, I'm no expert so I was genuinely wondering if there was anything else beside the dimension that could've cause the parts to conflict.

Corsair lists max cpu cooler height at 150mm (http://www.corsair.com/en-ca/carbide-series-spec-01-red-led-mid-tower-gaming-case). Don't forget that there is space behind the motherboard for cable management.

Cooler Master lists the Hyper 212 EVO height as 158.5mm (http://us.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/cooling/hyper-series/hyper-212-evo.html).

The Vortez article linked by @lee32uk says "Although Corsair state in the technical specifications 150mm for the maximum CPU cooler height, our Noctua NH-U12P managed to just about fit within the chassis." The emphasis is mine.

Corsair appears to have designed the Spec cases for 120mm AIO coolers. If you want to pursue overclocking go with an AIO like the H80i.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
