I found this bundle on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-Headphones-Channel-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B006CUARNC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1417983060&sr=8-5&keywords=dt+990+pro

I was just wondering if the amp it comes with could power the headphones just fine?

Meh, it is just a $20 amp so I doubt it would work well. Fiio has some good options so you should check them out for amps and dacs. Mayflower has the O2, but it is pricy.

It should, the DT 990 can be power even by a phone to an acceptable volume.

nope, the 32ohm version probably could, but this is the 250 ohm version

If you need the 4 channel amp, it should be okay, but if you are only asking because you see it in a bundle then don't go for it. You can get a better deal on DT990's on eBay.

I have the exact same headphones (250ohm pro) and the can be powered to an acceptable volume (not loud, but loud enought) by my Samsung Galaxy S4.

They will sound better with an amp though.

Why people keep thinking the impedance is the main factor?

HE-6, probably the hardest headphone to be driven on the market, is only 50 ohms. Far harder to power compared to 300 ohms HD650.

Because of videos like this where uninformed youtubers ignore physics and perpetuate the idea that impedance has everything to do with how hard a pair of headphones is to drive.

Meanwhile my HD800's get uncomfortably loud off my onboard + my nexus 7 2013.

Probably need to be broken in with more brown noise.

I just find it hilarious how many times I've corrected people and tried to help them understand impedance isn't a be-all end-all, and they still go around spewing out the same info afterwards.
