Must have apps for windows.

Fun little topic to list your top 5 of Must Have apps for windows.

My list:

1) Recuva - It's a data recovery program that's simple effective and lightweight. Perfect for those family pictures that you accidentally deleted. (Free)

2) Google Drive Desktop -  If you're a google drive user this is a must have IMO. (Free)

3) Not really an app but, The (Un)Official Linustechtips extension for chrome made by @linusforsell. - Shows Notifications and PM's , also highlights events such as WAN show etc so you won't miss anything LTT. ( Free)

4) Adobe Photoshop - Learn how to use it!, It's a great app for creating all kinds of graphical images. Also with more and more phones supporting .RAW in the future, tweaking these photos will result in awesome pictures straight from your smartphone. ( Not free)

5) Last but not least. VLC Media player. If you are using WMP as your default media player , switch to this, it's much better! ( Free)

AIDA64 is also a must have IMO For more information: http://www.aida64.com/

Out of the actual non-essential programs like browser,

1.) Oblytile. I like tiles, but not the stock ones.

2.) CCleaner. keep it clean.

3.) Spotify. Keep on jammin.

4.) Malewarebytes. keep it really clean.

5.) Geforce Experience. I like the ability to keep my drivers immediatley updated, and DSR.

1) VLC: First and Last video player I need. I used to play music with it too but i'm using youtube and steam client for my music now

2) Gimp: Because fuck paying for photoshop. I mean for what I use it which is very minor edits that are just out of reach for paint, its ok

3) MSI Afterburner: Cause I don't care about noise nearly as much as I care about my GPU lasting a long time so I use pretty aggressive fan curves with it

4) Smart defrag: Free but still way better than the windows solution

5) Malware bytes: Gotta have something in case a little bugger sneaks into my system. Although for any serious antivirus protection or clean up I just boot up Linux

Notepad++ is nice and lightweight, and a lot easier on the system resources compared to VS. Also, it has built in support (well, formatting anyway) for HTML, CSS, PHP, and other languages that VS doesn't support.

I would also add:

CCleaner (As others have mentioned)

Revo Uninstaller

EaseUS ToDo Disk Backup software (Available as an installable, or as a USB bootable)

These aren't "apps", but they should be a must have for any tech or enthusiast.

CloneZilla (Not an installable, but still nice to have the more oldschool cloning software when other options won't work)

GParted (Again, not an installable, but so useful)

Active@ Boot Disk (Not free, but holy fuck this suite is awesome)

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

fair enough. i just keep VS open at all times when im doing coding anyway, so i see no use in a lightweight one, and i have addons for those languages that i need :)

I dunno, for skyrim i guess, modifying the ini files and other stuff, not really programming specifically.

1. Winamp

2. VLC

3. Chrome

4. CodeBlocks

5. Picasa - really you say? I just hate other image viewers and picasa has really nice effect and is fast. Only thing I hate with it is that it rally degrades image quality.

Lol at the picasa one. I actually said "really" when i saw it lol.
