[Build Log] Brother's New Gaming Rig! (Christmas Present)

So, I'm gonna be building my brother a high quality gaming rig for his Christmas present. Thanks to an incredible Black Friday deal on OCUK, I managed to save around £300 on parts.

 

Part Breakdown:

CPU: Intel 4790k

Mobo: Gigabyte SOC Z97 Force

PSU: Superflower 850W (Modular) 

GPU: Zotac 780ti 3GB

RAM: TeamGroup 2133MHz (2x4GB)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H75

Case: Corsair SPEC-03 Orange

SSD: Samsung EVO 840 250GB

HDD: Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB

OS: Windows 8.1 Home Premium

Have you bought the gpu already? If not then it would be completely worth getting a 980 instead. Better performance and cheaper. I got my 980 for £400

Mind you you say you got a black friday deal so maybe you paid less than 400 for it.

The CPU, GPU, PSU, RAM and MOBO were all part of an OCUK Black Friday Deal. Was like £650 for all of them!

Glad to see someone from here got that bundle I posted in the hot deals, it went out of stock pretty quick so must have only had a few of them :P

 

Doesn't look as orange as I had expected, but then I guess the fans face downward and maybe the light just wasn't great on the motherboard.

Yeah lighting wasn't great, was using camera without a flash too. Will post better pictures when the build is finished! Thanks again for linking the deal!

I'm not a fan of the case, maybe a Corsair 450D with some orange led fans? The orange bright light will glow through the front panel vents. The orange led Bitfenix Spectre Pro look really neat

 

Most product pictures don't show the actual color of these fans, here you can see it better.

I chose it mainly for the price! And I actually have some 120mm SpectrePro Orange LED fans coming in the post over the next few days!

switching from a **** dell to this gaming pc....he is probably gonna cry, because of the new pc :)                   Make sure you get him BF4 and such games as a present too or recommend it, cuz its a good game
