GPU for single 1080p gaming at max settings 30-40fps

Val.J

What class GPU would you say will be sufficient to run AAA titles maxed out at 1080p with playable 30-40fps average? I understand that the top of the line cards would be overkill if you are not running higher resolutions or multiple monitors (or 3d).
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on that :)

You can, apart from a handful of games- Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Tomb Raider and Metro Last Night spring to mind.

Don`t forget that I`m not going for high fps, i just need it to be playable, around 30 to 40 (which I think should be ok)

Yes I know :D . Some of the newer AAA games are ridiculously demanding. In crysis 3 for example even a Geforce Titan cannot hold 60fps maxed out at 1080p. That's a $1000 GPU. It's pretty ridiculous.

Fortunately such games are the minority and even on them you can turn down a few knobs without much loss in quality at all. If I was you I would probably buy something in the range of a 7870. In general don't go lower than a 7850 2Gb.

A GTX 660 or readon 7870 will play most games at max settings or very high. And the price/performance ratio is great with these cards. A 7950 is also a really good choice. i would buy a 7870 if i would be short on cash

I have gtx 660. It runs every game decent fps. I recommend to get 7870 or 7850, because amd is better in that price range.

when you say maxed out.....

do you mean

-1920x1080

-all eye candy literally at the maximum allowed setting

-with AF and AA

because I'm calling bs on that.

thats not maxed out.

4x AA not MSAA,and we don't know exactly what settings they used as it simply says very good looking driver graphics settings.

guru3d also reviewed it,but with 4x msaa and they got 41fps

34g8z9w.png

MOH:W got 38fps

far cry 3 (only 2x msaa)

crysis 3 FXAA (so not technically max settings)
