Well it actually gives you options of how safe it should play it, such as giving you the option to set voltage limits, temp limits, or frequency limits.

I have been on the ASUS auto OC for 3 years at 4.43GHz and 1.135v with no instability issues at all.

I keep seeing it advertised and I want to know how good of a job it really does. Does it push the system too far or does it play it super safe to the point where I might as well just overclock it myself? Thanks in advance. 

I wouldn't recommend using it, normally the automatic tuning increases the voltage of the CPU way above it should be for the overclock.

Just read a few guides and watch Linus's overclocking guides and you''ll be fine. 

Remember with less voltage, the CPU produces less heat and will have a longer life.

Yeah, I'd recommend just manually overclock for the best results.
