So this is my situation; I have a VA 60hz BenQ and a 10 year old dell plasma 4:3 monitor and this Christmas it is time to get two 16:9 screens.

I have an i5 2500K, 8GB ram and a R9 280x and a 7750 that I found xD

I usually play TF2, Dota2, Skyrim (with over 90 mods), and wow

I have ca 2000 sek (about 200€)

I have found both an IPS 60hz (Dell U2414H Ultrasharp 23,8")

and a TN 144hz (AOC 24" LED G2460PQU)

I have pondered, contemplated and researched about this choice and I can´t decide. 144 hz is nice and smooth but IPS is beautiful.

(Display port is a must for me)

U2414H is plenty fast if you don't play TF2 at pro level.

IPS

Them more refresh rate isn't  that helpful unless your super competitive though your GPU won't go that high either (Unless old title)

I would say ips every time if you are not going for 144hz. But then again I don't think anyone should go for 144hz because most games won't reach that because of the cpu. You can always turn down graphics but that won't make the cpu run faster. I went ips ultra wide and I must say it was the best decision I have ever made for my computer. So much more gaming real estate. Not a massive improvment for windows real estate in windows at 2560x1080p unfortunately.

That being said a good TN panel can have wonderful colors. Using the nvidia control panel on my asus vx238 I had colors nearly as good if not looking over saturated in some scenarios compared to my ips lg panel.

Ips hands down. It is like night and day better.

Viewing angles: IPS

Color: IPS

Over all you will be very happy with IPS.

IPS is just better, though you asked a forum who basically regurgitate over the over again that TN is shit and IPS is king.  TN has it's place, and sometimes TN is good, but IPS is just better for most cases.
