I think aspect ratio might have been more fitting since best resolution is always your monitors native one. :V

 

Been using this 24" 16:10 1920x1200 display for many years now and could never use a standard 1080p model. Eventually I do want 2560x1440 and will worry about 4k once a single GPU is powerful enough to max out a game and get 60FPS. Still 16:9 over 16:10, but it's more pixels.

None of the above: I like 1920x1200 because of the 16:10 aspect ratio and it isn't too hard to drive. The pixel density is fine on my 27" monitors and I wish my laptops had this res/ratio.

1080p. I don't think there is any need for anything more right now. Maybe in the future, but not right now.

I love my 4K monitor, it's really sweet but if you're like me and have bad vision it's a tad hard to use

1440. I choose to run games at max or I gtfo. 4k just requires to much horsepower. I will wait one more gpu generation.

I need 4k or higher. Aliasing on text bothers the crap out of me after getting used smooth text like on a "retina" smart phone.
