Sounds a pretty high, mine runs around 60fps ish on ultra for me  I have a couple things lowered to keep it a smooth 60. And I know the 780ti is about as twice as powerful, I am also running at 1200mhz.

TB with his dual 980 struggles with 60fps

TB is quite frankly ALWAYS having awful performance in his games for some reason. He struggles to stay at 30fps in AC unity, well I can get around 45-60fps just fine on a 780ti. Far cry 4 is no exception, I just turn down like 3 settings to high and bam, smooth 60. Of course not that smooth because the stutter. I would also like to note that he said in his thief review forever ago he can get 120fps fairly easily on a titan with the game maxed out. He also said he struggles to maintain anything over 40fps in dead rising 3 but I managed to average about 65-70ish fps on my single 780ti.  I love TB but I try not to listen to him that much when it's about system performance.

The game is so broken, it probably won't work.. I bought it a week ago and still haven't been able to play because of the stupid USB problems they have -.-' and the patch has been delayed a week! :o :'(

to be fair he does try to crank up everything up to the MAX and they usually correspond with what I get

The game's optimization is a complete joke, except nobody's laughing. I was trying to play it on medium with an r9 280x, and it occasionally hit 60FPS.

Shit-tier game Ubisoft, but what did I expect from a company that has it's head so far it's ass that it can smell last year's Thanksgiving turkey.

I might be wrong.

Please skip to 32:15.

Please can someone tell me who can run thief on a single titan (even a year after launch almost)  at 120fps. Like I said I love him, I watch all his wtf is videos but I can never trust "performance"

http://www.techspot.com/review/787-thief-benchmarks/page2.html it boggles my mind he can hit 120fps when my 780ti can't even get close. I will point out the benchmark for the game is a lot more demanding than actual gameplay but not even close to twice as hard to run. More like 15-20%harder to run than standard gameplay.

I guess it's legit since I get slightly higher FPS with my 7950 on Ultra@1080p. Will drop to 33fps-38fps around Town/Outpost though.

There is no reason NOT to trust him, if you trust his reviews you should trust his performance reviews too

As he always says "your mileage may vary" he does not run benchmarks, and is not a computer techie, he just sticks it on ultra and tells your FPS his PC gets

Did I say I don't trust him because I believe he wants to lie to me? No. I don't trust him because he is "not a computer techie". As you can see from last comment with the video attached he sometimes does not know what he is talking about. There is no scenairo where a single titan is going to be averaging 120fps in that game. That is not the only instance where his performance numbers are waaaaay off. Mileage may indeed vary but certain graphics cards can only do certain things.

Perhaps he simple had AA or something off without realising it, hence giving him elevated performance, or had tessellation off or something ( I know you can see the settings but you never know)

It's a WTF is video.... he goes through the settings before hand and he has SSAA on high. The only thing not maxed out anisotropic filtering which is a 4x for some reason but that does not effect frame rate anyway.

All I am saying is its possible the settings he showed at the beginning were not applied and he was accidentally using something lower than what he said

I just find out out of character for TB to not fully represent the truth, if he Stick a game on high, and fraps tells him he is getting 120fps, then that is what he tells people, which is fair enough, his recent port reports have been pretty damn accurate, perhaps just a one off anomaly

Yeah, so did I. Then I played again after. They did absolutely nothing. Which is why I knew not to buy that garbage. And I beleive he played on v1.02, I remember him yelling about the patch not doing anything but it could have been one of his podcast things where he said that.

Not to mention he was moaning about how intensive the Hinterlands in DAI are. My single 970 runs it fine and it feels fluid roaming around there.

lol I love how inquisition runs around 60-80fps with two 980's. I haven't played the game personally but I saw kotaku's bench mark article and at 1920x1200 with 2x msaa they get 59fps average. So either yet again he has something wonkey going on with his system or the game reallllly sucks with sli scaling. But I haven't looked into that one much.

I would assume it's SLI scaling. My single 970 runs it at ultra 1080p, 2x msaa with no stuttering whatsoever. Very fluid game indeed.

IMHO it's legit. I get around 45 FPS on average during the day and 60 during the night on low/medium.

I have a Phenom II x4 955 @3.8GHz, 4GB RAM and a GTX 470 SC.

Proof.

I don't remember if I used Bandicam with Lagarith or Action! Mirillis to record this.

It doesn't matter.
