A Ubisoft developer that worked of Far Cry 4 labels all #gamergate supporters Terrorists

Being against gamergate is one thing but comparing those that support to terrorists is too far, especially with all the bad thing actual terrorists are doing in the world.

Any thoughts ? Another shovel maybe?

Pretty sure threatening multiple peoples lives is considered terrorism, but hey what do I know. If Gamergate took a mature approach to weeding out corruption in journalism it wouldn't be an issue but instead it took a sexist fucking redditor fedora wearing neckbeard approach and blamed women and threatened womens lives approach instead. That is where the terrorism and issue with gamergate stemmed from.

1. WTF is gamergate?

2. 3...2....1.... fired.

Gamergate is a movement to uproot corrupt journalism in the video game industry but took a turn for the worse when it solely targeted women in the industry and turned into a front for sexist gamers to attack women.

Absolutely, threatening peoples is wrong and if its for political motives then yes, it can be branded terrorism. But those people were a minority and don't represent the movement as a whole. Should all Muslims be brand terrorists based on the actions of a few ?

You have a valid point but what you're missing is that (using your analogy) the entire muslim religion isn't about killing/punishing americans where as the Gamergate movement is specifically about targeting women in the corruption of video game journalism. You have to keep in mind Terrorism isn't defined as killing. What Gamergate is doing is the exact definition of terrorism. Is the whole movement as radical as the few (but still large amount) people threatening womens lives? No obviously not but as I said terrorism isn't only defined as killing someone.

Your build is better though :P

Ehh that is relative, I'm not the biggest fan of my build. It isn't unique what so ever and I feel it is really confused. I'd love to sell it and build something more personal/unique like yours is.

I won’t get into the debate of what gamergate was or what it has become. Since I don’t support either way.

However I do have close friends, both male and female that do support it. So I tend to play devil’s advocate on their behalf. But to label them and put them in the same category, as people that strap explosives to themselves. That kill innocent women and children or behead and gun down people for no logical reason. People that terrorise millions of innocent around the world, is in my opinion, insulting and out of line

If the government says its cracking down on terrorism. Should those that support gamergate go into hiding?  Should gamergate supporters be subject to the antiterrorism laws of our country as well? Or Perhaps over time the meaning of terrorism has evolved to mean more extreme forms, perhaps the broader sense of what it meant has diminished to extremists only.

Ask someone from a younger generation what a terrorist is? What would they say? What would a government count as a terrorist? What would a victim that has lost loved ones to terrorists say? According to the dictionary he was right in what he said about some of its members. But I think In the times we live in, a lot of people would agree that the meaning has somewhat changed and what he said was unfair. And since the majority of gamergate supporters have made no treats, then they can't be labelled as terrorists under any definition. Just because you believe what they are doing is wrong or unfair, doesn't give you the right to label them terrorists.

I could even play devils’ advocate and say he meant it in an a non-extremist way, but since he didn’t call them terrorists, he said “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” a phrase that is mostly only said by governments when dealing with the most extreme terrorists .

Can we stop having 10 new threads every day about Ubisoft? It's not funny, and it's gotten to the point of a bandwagon where people are reporting the slightest thing to get a shot at some likes and fame. No one cares about your keep on digging meme. Ignore and move on. Stop feeding them more attention than they deserve. If you truly despise them you will do the smart thing and just IGNORE them.
