I'm new to the world of Nexus phones (just got a nexus 5 a month ago).  how do you get the update? if I tap "check for updates" in settings, it just says I'm up to date.

It takes time for the update get to everyone you should get the notification in the next few hours to at max a day usually

You can either wait, and it'll come OTA and you'll get a notification telling you it's ready to be installed... or you can follow Google's guide to flashing the update in the first link in the OP... If I were you, I'd just wait. It shouldn't be long now, and it's probably not worth the hassle of flashing to get it a few days ahead.

Kind of annoyed that the Nexus 4 is later everything else... but I guess it is understandable. I have been patient for this long, a few more days won't kill me.

A bit weird that the Nexus 4 has to wait longer. But I am using my Z3 as my daily driver anyways. (The Nexus 4 is just for tinkering now)

Cool, I look forward to trying it on my nexus 7. I also ordered my droid turbo today, so hopefully I'll get a timely update for that too.
