Interesting.  Moto seems to be on top of lollipop.  One of my friends got it for his 2013 moto x yesterday.

I am going to get irritated if they don't role out lollipop for my 2013. It's the same hardware underneath.

probably is available for the us build first, moto uses different builds for different places, the only difference is language support so it should come very soon

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

i use to have the second best link in the world here, but it died ;_; its a 404 now but it will always be here

Motorola has been really good at getting updates out fast. It makes me fairly jealous since I use Nova launcher so I don't really care about any custom skins created by manufacturers.

Yay, I get to be a crash test dummy.

Anything I should watch out for with this version of Android? Is it expected to improve anything special?

Edit: No update for me yet.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

One of the biggest UI face lifts that Android has gotten for a very long time. Plus lock screen notifications, built in flashlight toggle, ART is the default runtime among other things.

OK but does that mean it'll be heavier on the performance side? I'd rather not if that's the case. Not that my phone is slow, I'd just rather avoid it.

It's actually meant to speed up devices. The Material design was made to provide a consistent 60 fps transition between tasks. ART also may provide a bit of performance boost when it comes to launching apps compared to Dalvik (no longer needs to compile on the fly). Don't hesitate, upgrade to it if you find it appealing.

Motorola doesn't really have a skin at all. Your basically looking at stock android with a couple of added features. :P
