Replacing my GPU 660 to 970 Driver Question

I don't need to uninstall my GPU drivers correct? GeForce should detect a change automatically? Thanks in advance.

Specs:  CPU- AMD FX 8320 @ 3.5Ghz Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 GPU -EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked  RAM- 16GB 1600MHz (4x4)  HD- Western Digital Blue Hard Drive 1TB  PSU - Corsair CX 750M Case: Corsair 300R OS-  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013 Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Edition 2013

yes it should but if there are issues then yea you migtht just make sure gerforce exerience itself is updated

I believe all Nvidia cards use the same driver, I'm 95% sure it's just plug-and-play for GPUs from the same company. That's assuming your 660 gets the newest drivers, check to make sure and you'll be fine.

When I moved from my gtx 760 to 780 it first started fine after I replaced it. After the next restart it would only allow 800 X 600 resolution. Then restarting once more fixed it and has been working fine since. So no you should not have to but it might be a good idea just in case.

Help: 970 is in but I'm stick at 800x600 and Geforce is not doing anything. Suggestions?

Just perform a clean install when the new drivers are downloaded and you will be fine.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz
