Mining still worth it on GPUs?

I currently have the 7970 ghz.

I was wondering if it is still worth it to mine using a graphics card or is it not worth it? Litecoin, dogecoin, bitcoin. Or something similar?

Unless electricity was free and you had a lot of 7970s then yes it's worth it. But if you have to pay for electricity and you only have one 7970, then no, it's not worth it.

Mining BTC with a GPU is definitely not worth it. Almost all of the BTC mining is done with ASICs, and GPUs cannot compare in terms of hash power to power consumption. Scrypt ASICs are certainly being used on LTC and DOGE, but mining Scrypt based coins with GPUs is still very possible (just not LTC or DOGE). If you are looking to mine a coin then I suggest you look at coins that use other hashes, such as Cryptonite which uses an M7 hash. A good place to start is the Bitcointalk forums:

https://bitcointalk.org/

For the most part mining for profit is difficult right now, I suggest you choose a coin you want to support or one that has good prospects for the future. Cryptocurrency is fascinating and goes far deeper than making a bunch of money on dumb luck. Best of luck with whatever you choose to do :)

Mining never was worth it.

It absolutly was, severeal different times even. If it still is, is debatable but it definitely was.

Also @OP check what youre paying for electricity and heating. Winter is coming(depending on where you live) and it might be profitable if you consider that al the electricity consumtion is going to heating your house. And if the price differance between your heating and electricity is small enough, that might make it profitable, if combined with the right coin.

Fair enough, I haven't ever mined DOGE. I mainly advise against buying hardware for mining, rather than using hardware you have.
