How can this be?

I am just baffled my 4790k temps my cooler is a hyper 212 eve and at 100pecent load I get around 70 to 80 degrees c and at idle around 20 to 30 are these average?

depending on your ambient temps yes

ahh cheers I was just amazed becauee my i5 use to get upto 60 and for a i7 to get to only 20 degrees more just seemed unreal

ahh cheers I was just amazed becauee my i5 use to get upto 60 and for a i7 to get to only 20 degrees more just seemed unreal

You did replace the thermal paste when you swapped CPUs, right?

yea I use the rice grain Arctic 3 are these temps good thow yes?

yes anything below 85C is safe.

Load temps are bit on higher side, even for EVO. What voltage you are using?

HT alone adds another 8-10*c under load. As long as the CPU is under 85*c your sweet as, no throttling.

 

Everything is normal, although a little on the high side maybe, but thats probably your motherboard applying AUTOMATIC voltage, which rises and falls, and usually adds more than needed giving a little extra heat in the process.

Nothing to worry about, tis all normal operation.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
