I'll get an hour or so into the Star Citizen patching process, and it will stop and give a big red error message saying, "SOURCE FILE WAS CORRUPTED" with the options to Retry or Re-download All Patches. And I don't mean this has happened once or twice, I'm talking like four times out of my last 5-6 attempts to patch the client.

Today, it has happened twice during the same patching attempt.

Is this a known issue? Is anyone else seeing similar behavior?

I have not had or heard about this issue.

Sounds like your connection is having problems.

I won't rule it out, but that would mean Star Citizen is the only thing having an issue with my connection. I can download or stream anything else without issue.

Picture of the error added above, if it matters.

I think the solution for all problems with Star Citizen is to delete the USER folder in your SC folder. You'll have to download it all over again, but the problem should be fixed.

I was about to say the same thing. Worst case scenario is that you can delete everything and start from scratch. Takes a lot of time but is clean.

Yeah, as there is no progress to be saved you'll be good if you just delete the whole thing. It's annoying, but Alpha eh... ;)

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Yeah, I expected the solution to this would be wiping the game from my system and doing a clean install. Before I did it, though, I wanted to see if anyone else had seen the problem. I don't want to go to those lengths if the problem is just going to reappear immediately anyway.

Might be worth running a CHKDSK just in case :)

It's definitely worth checking, particularly since this is a refurbished Seagate HDD. That said, I have 650 GB of games on it, and only Star Citizen is having any problems.

It's also the drive I keep my page file on, which has a tendency to cause BSoDs if the drive is faulty. I'm having no issues like that.

Thanks for your help, everyone.
