I hate Ubisoft.

That being said.  As long as those items don't give any one an in game advantage I don't care.

I'll get the game, shitty company or not I have faith. Watch_Dogs was fun, so was Splinter Cell: Blacklist. And everyone is pissing themselves over Far Cry 4, forgetting who's behind it.

 

Inb4 someone insults me for having faith in Ubisoft

it's weird, but it still benefits the players. instead of just a DLC, you get a DLC + shaving cream. it's a weird marketing gimmick, but it doesn't take anything away from players. shouldn't make you HATE ubisoft even more IMO

 

Having to buy completely external, non-gaming products to get in-game equipment, weapons and gear - which also equals day-one DLC - makes me hate Ubisoft a lot more, yes.

not sure how it would work, but if you order the shaving cream and get a code for the DLC right away, should you really be complaining?

 

now, if the code is on the shaving cream can or something, then I can see why people would be annoyed because you would need to wait for the can to arrive. other than that, it's not a big deal. 

 

Uh, I don't want to spend more money and buy cans of shaving cream to get content that they held back.

Yeah, there are bugs, but when you just play it (and most of them are fixed now anyways), it's a solid game. Graphics aren't spectacular, but TheWorse mod fixes that.

 

I don't know. I liked it, and I even bought the new single-player DLC that came out recently. It was fun as well.

Mountain dew has done this with like every single Halo game, and I think MtnDew+ Doritos are currently doing a deal with CoD AW as well.

 

 

It seems the only reason people dislike this is because Ubisoft is involved, which is pretty stupid IMO.

Pretty sure most of Ubisoft's audience won't have any use for shaving cream.

A developer holding back content so they can force us to buy additional products - not even related to gaming - in addition to our $60 so we get full access to everything. That's pretty godawful.

They aren't forcing you to buy anything, if it doesn't benefit you in-game I see no reason to buy it, and even if it does benefit you in-game, you're still not being forced to buy it.

 

Yes it's dumb they created separate content that may/may not be unavailable to you without buying that product, but you don't have to buy it.

Oh, alright then. They might as well just cut half the game out, or even just cut the ending out of the game, then force you to buy a $30k car in order to play that cut content. After all, you don't have to buy it.

Except they're not cutting out half the game, they're cutting out what looks to be an outfit. And you receive that from a $3 bottle of shaving cream you may need anyways.

I remember when you used to pay $60 for a game and you got everything, including tons of extra bonus fun stuff like costumes, extra characters, bonus weapons, etc. They didn't cut stuff out for the entire purpose of trying to sell you even more things.
