New build Pricey

I'm looking to create a new and more powerful build. I'm trying to stay with a red scheme. Wondering if there were any suggestions or way to bring the price down. Trying to get it to around 800$.

$100 case

$185 Motherboard

And then that CPU and that GPU? You need to balance it out more.

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Don't get an SSD and rethink your priorities as far as mobos go, I'd reccommend an MSI board.

Phanteks CPU cooler overkill for a cpu that cant overclock.

Why the maximus vi? there is a vii(7th)

Don't get that antec psu, but a EVGA Supernova 600 watt. Or a corsair cx500m

You won't see it anyway in the h440.

From my knowledge and experience, asus boards are the way to go

Don't get that PSU just because it's red... You can't even see it in the H440

Specs are on my profile page

Teach a man to fish and he ends up sticking a screw driver in a turned on power supply seeing if it still works.        #KilledMyWifeWithABomb            Resolution is just a number

Asus or MSI, but you can get pretty cheap MSI red and black motherboards (well, sort of cheap)

Have you ever had an SSD?

Nope, it surely dosen't matter that much. The OP obviously wants a colour themed build, so you have to pay the price.

Get a MX100 as a starter it is nearly the same price and just on all points better, way over expensive CPU cooler for a unlocked CPU and same for the MoBo and as the rest say if you don't get a windowed case then don't try to go a color specific build.

The Antec is better than both the EVGA and Corsair so why would you swap it ?

You won't get anything modular for less. It is a good psu.

Tough to get 'better' parts for the budget and color scheme.  For the price of that Phanteks cooler though you could go all-in-one liquid with a Corsair Hydro H60 and you can save by getting a cheaper motherboard, especially since you won't be overclocking etc.  Checkout the Z87 Asus Sabertooth, Microcenter has them for $112 and with the savings you can add a bit for a GTX 770 instead.
