I know this is a stupid question but I haven't experience this yet.

Do I need to match the clockspeeds of different GPU brands when i'll SLI? I'm planning to get a Palit Jetsream then a Gigabyte G1 Gaming as an upgrade in the future. Both are GTX 970s.

My Current PC Codename: Scrapper

Spoiler

Intel i5-3570 | Some LGA 1155 MOBO Some Generic DDR3 8GB 1600Mhz | PowerColor RX 560 2GB | Recycled HP Case Crucial MX100 128GB 1TB WD Blue 7200RPM | Some Generic 500w PSU | Intel Stock Cooler

One of them will slow down to the speed of the slowest card but nothing bad will happen

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

It's ok for the clockspeed to vary so long as it's not excessive, in most overclocking utilities there's a sync button that will sync the cards to the slowest card.

One last thing guys, do you think If I get two GTX 970 AMP OMEGA instead and put it in my Bitfenix Ronin case with a Gigabyte Gaming 7 it will be too tight that' they'll practically be starved of airflow?
