When is the next i5 processor scheduled to release, and will it use the X99/DDR4 platform?

DDR4 for Broadwell is a no.

yes but DDR4 will eventually come to the consumer platform, probably for skylake. I dont think broadwell will use DDR4 unless something drastically changes...

Next i5 is Broadwell and will work in any Z97 Motherboard with a BIOS update. It will use DDR3.
