hey everyone i was wondering how two Corsair AF140mm Quiet Edition fans would perform on my Corsair H90 compare to two SP fans

worse. af fans are meant for open spaces where there isn't much stuff in the way sp fans are meant for more crowded spaces where there is more in the way

I remember an old Linus video where an SP and an AF in push pull, respectively, had the best performance.

The H90 has a fairly high fin density. In this situation, a SP fan will yield better performance than a AF fan.

It is recommended to use high static pressure fans in applications where there is lots of obstructions (i.e. in front of HDD cages, radiators, etc), while high airflow fans for open locations (i.e. side air intakes, top exhaust, etc).

I did not think of that. You could always get rid of the lights i think.

There isn't a whole lot for Static Pressure 140mm fans.

AiO rads aren't all that dense, they don't need the highest static pressure available. Airflow focused fans do pretty well. JayzTwoCents did a video on this fairly recently.

Admittedly my knowledge of 140mm fans is limited as I don't have any use for them personally. Akasa Apache, Gelid Wing 14, Cougar CFV14HB, Noctua NF-A14 are fans I would personally use. Noiseblocker is a company with good fans, but I don't know anything about their 140's.

As for a proper answer, they'll work well enough. Anyone who pays any attention to many of my posts here is aware of my dislike for Corsair fans. But, the AF140 QE isn't as terrible as it's siblings are, and while I wouldn't buy it, it's not a bad purchase. That said, I would recommend a PWM fan.

INTEL CORE i5-7600K | ASUS ROG STRIX B250i GAMING | CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT 16GB | EVGA GTX 970 SC | EVGA B3 550W
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB | CRYORIG M9i | BE QUIET! PURE WINGS 2| FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE NANO S
