Best I could come up with.......... Got that monitor in the budget but no sound card, the mobo has good sound though

Wow thanks for all your response. You guys are really really fast given that I only posted this a few minutes ago. I don't really need any mechanical hard drive though because I have a total of 3 TB of mechanical storage which is sufficient at the moment. I am however thinking of getting another SSD so that I can set up a raid 0 configuration because my 250 GB isn't really enough. I have to uninstall games every now and then so that I can install new ones.

Also I like the choice of the cooler since it is really hot in Singapore. We have summer all year round and it can get as hot as 36 degree Celcius in the day time.

I have a few questions though, the 5820k do not have enough PCIE lanes to support 2 GPU at 16x 16x configuration. There won't be any bottlenecks at the moment but do you think it can last me for another 3 - 4 years?

I am thinking of swapping the HDD and the GTX 980 for 2 x GTX 970 because it seems like a more valuable option.

Thanks again for your suggestion, really appreciate it.

I have updated the parts list to what you wanted. Its 198 dollars over budget but if you save an extra month you should be able to purchase with dual 970's with an over built design. Also the reason I choose the 5820k is because it runs on X99 chip set which was recently released and will definetly last you 4 years if you maintain it well. This CPU will support your gpu's. I hope this helps......Should have clarified more earlier in the description.
1. Budget & Location
US$3,000

I live in Singapore but I intend to buy all my parts from the US because PC parts like graphic cards are generally very expensive in Singapore. As far as I know, Newegg/global/sg is the only site that ships to Singapore at a decent price, but the options are fewer compared to the main Newegg site.

2. Aim

My aim is to build a system that can run modern games at 3440x1440p resolution at the highest setting for all the modern games at a good fps. I don't want to just stop at 60 fps.. I want more than 60 fps because I hope the future proof my gaming rig as well. I play all kinds of games, some of which are quite graphic intensive like metro last light, shadow of mordor and watchdogs (just to name a few). Apart from gaming,  I will also be using my rig to watch movies and listen to songs. A sound card would be nice if it can fit into my budget.

3. Monitors

I pretty much decided on the LG 34UM95 ultra wide monitor though, after watching the review video by Linus. I have not bought it though, so that deduct from my budget. I am also considering that standard 1440p monitor though as long as they are IPS because color accuracy is very important to me.

4. Peripherals

I will be re-using some of the stuff from my current build.
1. Logitech G502 Gaming mouse,
2. Corsair K70 cherry MX brown with red LED
3. Samsung 840 PRO 250GB (Might get one more of this considering that 250GB is not really enough for my gaming needs at the moment)
4. Corsair Vengeance 1400 (regretted not buying 1500 instead)
5. I got a few mechanical hard drive, including a hitachi desktar that I bought a few years ago. I have 3TB of mechanical storage at the moment which is actually quite sufficient.

5. Why are you upgrading?

am upgrading so that I can give my existing build to my girlfriend because I want her to play games with me. Besides, since I graduated and have a decent job now, I can afford a build that is better.

Thanks.
