Hey guys,

I am planning out my new rig and I need some help for that.

I got a couple of fans that I wanna buy but they are all 3-pin - the Corsair white LED High Static Pressure fans. Even the AF fans are all 3-pin, i just wanna have all my fans in the case the same, yeah just maybe the size different, but design, i want them all same.

I want to know, since those fans will be running all the time at 100% speed, can I lower them without using a fan control? Lots of fan controllers I see on Amazon look like a "hit and miss" so I don't wanna get the headache with RMAs. I was gonna use the DIP 5 software for overclocking and optimization (from Asus), but would that work?

Just to mention, I am gonna watercool my CPU anyways using the Swiftech H240-X with their stock fans, since they are all PWM controlled... However, it's just the Corsair fans I am really concerned about, how can I manage those noisy guys?

If you want, you can even suggest me some other fans...here is the config i came up with for now...

Case: Vengeance C70

Front: Dual 120mm LED High Static Pressure fans in push + one fan on the back of HD cage for pulling. intake

Side: Dual 140mm LED High Static Pressure fans in pull - intake

Rear: One 120mm LED High Static Pressure fan in push - exhaust

Top: Dual 140mm PWM High Static Pressure fans from Swiftech - intake

PSU fan: 135mm: exhaust

Exhaust from the bottom of the case - no fans.

If there is a way to control those 3-pin case fans, tell me, or suggest me 4-pin fans. I want to control all of them with SOFTWARE.

Do you have a particular budget? my suggestion would be Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM

You can use a program like speedfan which can change fan speed according to the temperature of your CPU. Otherwise, some MB manufacturers like Asus have programs that you can download which also control the fan speed based on the CPU temperature.

NoiseBlockers are great too

Idk about noiseblocker i will look into them too, but Be quiet is really looking nice to me

Not used Noise Blockers so can't comment

3 pin fans will be DC controlled by your motherboard.

4 pin fans have PWM, that means, that the speed can be changed without changing voltage, but the speed of 3 pin fans (without PWM) is controlled changing the voltage.

So it won't matter is that what you mean? If I have Dual intelligent processors from Asus, it will test and optimize my fans, even if they are 3-pin...

Right. I'm using an Asus utility right now to control my 3 pin fans from the MB.

As was said above, 3 pin fans are controlled by increasing/decreasing the voltage. Not all motherboards support this though so you'll need to find out if you can do it on your motherboard. To my knowledge Asus' board support this BUT I doubt all of them do so I'd double check first.

Wait, do you mean "Fan Xpert 3"? I see they mension it on their specification of X99-A MB...
