I ordered a i7-4790k and an ASUS Impact VII directly from Amazon for my new mini-ITX build but when I opened up the box this is what I saw.

Non of the seal are broken, but obviously something happened. I've already contacted Amazon about it, but I was wondering does stuff like this just happen sometimes or is there something very wrong here?

That's very wrong. I would RMA that thing. Link us to the page of this on Amazon. As the above post said, the box doesn't look "genuine", although it could simply be a factory messup with Intel.

Yeah, I don't know how that happens or how unluck you have to be but you're going to have to RMA it.

Good luck rma that thing thing. u just got fd. There gonna claim you are trying to get over on them. That's why I avoid mail ordering when ever possible. That's why I only go to microcenter and new eggs will call. Ebay/mazon is my last resort

My wife is good at yelling them into submission when it comes to that stuff but I don't wanna be bothered with that

I live 5 min from newegg and 45 min from microcenter. I just don't like new eggs credit card only on will call policy I'd rather use my debit or cash.

Looks like someone bought it, took the i7 out and placed in a celeron, the returned it.

im affraid, that this is exactly what happened here.

And im also affraid that Amazone damm well knows this..

I also never buy stuff directly from the internet.

I call a shop and just drive to it. :)
