While I don't particualy like these kinds of images (to be honest they kinda creep me out), I don't have a problem with them.

I can see that the police/law enforcement is worried that these kinds of images will lead to actual children bening sexually assulted, but I have yet to see a study that proves this.

And to link it with actual CP is just insulting. Those were real children being abused, not a cartoon. 

 

There have been actual studies, but the studies show that in countries where digital CP (digital as in no actual children, all cartoon or rendered) is legal the actual rate of child abuse (sexual that is) is dramatically lower than where it is punished severely.

As I said, they will hardly catch you, so you can keep all the porn manga, anime even if u are in the UK. That's like forbidding people to watch porn on the internet, guess what, little children will still lie about their age and watch it. It is forbidden in Switzerland too, but noone cares. They simply share all the porn with included cartoons and manga and whatever they like in SCHOOL. You can't stop this by law, it's simply impossible. 

 

Most porn mangas ive seen have the 18+ tag, which here in Switzerland they are strict about this (in shops outside) just like for games that game age tags, but, you can simply dl it from the internet illegally and here ya go! A lot of kids do that, not only for porn but for movies that are 18+ and for games. Torrents are always there. THE LAW HAS NO POWER OVER EVERY SINGLE CHILD TO DO WHATEVER HE/SHE LIKES in the age of 10-17 illegally! Maybe in some of the states they do - catching people who download a movie illegally from a torrent (a friend of mine was caught and nearly sued for that).

Apperatly the drawings can't be too realistic.

I have seen some of the images that were classified as "not realistic" and they looked like your generic anime stuff, so I assume the realistic image they are referring to was one of those photo realistic ones.

The law is a bit fussy, where it says that it's illegal but the court case ended with them throwing out all but one image for being too unrealistic, and even that was like "whatever let him go free".

So yeah I am kind of worried they will make it illegal. We do have at least one politician who want to make it crystal clear that it's legal though, and it's a 51 year old woman with a degree in law. She wrote a suggestion with the title "separate between manga children and children made out of flesh and blood". she makes some good arguments too (sadly it's in Swedish so most people here won't be able to read it).

Paedophilia, by definition, is when an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. That isn't illegal in any country.

 

It's sexual and child abuse that is illegal, but the sexual attraction is not.
