my question is... is there a way of eliminating ghosting?
mechanically maybe??

by changing to better capacitors or something.
basically can I upgrade something in my monitor to eliminate ghosting
or improving response time by upgrading some parts?

thank you

question, is there a way to know how many pixels my monitor has so that I could make a custom resolution to match exactly the resolution to number of pixels

thank you

Ok.. time for a new monitor then

What's wrong with DVI :( I still use it, and I've had better experiences with it over HDMI. Haven't tried DP though.

No, i didnt mean it like that. DVI is the second best in my opinion, behind display port.  I mean it as in 'its probably not the cable causing the problem'

Well that's actually a VA panel equipped monitor and VA monitors are known to be slower than IPS or even TN monitors and you are gonna notice ghosting much more because of this no matter what pixel response time compensation is implemented. VA monitors are great for watching movies because of their great 3000:1+ contrast ratio and their deep inky blacks because of this. As for gaming, probably not so much. For that task I would highly recommend you an IPS or TN monitor (if you're a competitive gamer and need super fast response times) as they don't suffer quite as severely from ghosting like VA monitors do. I hope that helps you in some way. :)

Do you have a reliable article on this I can read? I'm quite curious on this topic. I hope you don't mind me picking at your brain.

That was all just written from memory. I've read a lot about display panel technologies because I'm fussy about colour accuracy and wanted know what was the best panel technology for the best colour accuracy. Because of wanting to know this I did pick up additional knowledge along the way, so that's why I'm able to easily write a post like above. However, if you would like to read up on these panel technologies yourself then my first stop would be to go to no other place than TFT Central. Simon Baker does great work and he has written a whole article about the various display technologies that you can read about right here (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/panel_technologies.htm). Enjoy! :)

I hope you don't mind me picking at your brain.

No, just don't touch anything major as I would like to keep the ability to walk and talk like everyone else. :P

I had an IPS monitor, it was Dell u2312hm but it had a very annoying motion blur, there was no ghosting whatsoever, but the motion blur was driving me crazy, this VA monitor doesn't have motion blur, but the ghosting is horrible,

and my friend has a TN panel, and he doesn't have motion blur or ghosting, but the backlight bleed is horrendous and the colors are washed, LOL.

Is there a monitor that is IPS with a fast response time and no ghosting that does not have backlight bleed, with a good PPI (pixel per inch)

also what is PLS? all I could find about it was that it was better then IPS.

Also is there an AMOLED monitor for gaming?

(sorry for long post)
