Asus Gtx 980 Overclock help

Hi, I'm pretty much a noob on overclocking.

 

I've heard that many people we're able to overclock their Gtx 980 to 1 500mhz.

I can't seem to find the right way to make a stable overclock. Could I please get help or some tips on the right way to do a good overclock.

Here are my Pc specs.

 

Motherboard: Msi Z87 G45
Processor: Intel i7 4770k 
Corsair hydroseries h100i
Ram: G.skill 16gb 2133mhz

Asus Gtx 980
Power supply. Corsair 850ax.

increase power limit

increase core voltage

increase clock speed

repeat

 

or you could look at a youtube tutorial

Turn power limit up all the way, then keep adding MHz on the core and stress testing till it becomes unstable, then turn it back down to the last stable clock speed.
