I learned to edit photos on GIMP. It's free and pretty powerful. There is a bit of a learning curve, but not too bad. :)

im looking for a good and by good i mean easy to use photo editing program, i must say i'm a noob in photo editing more into video but that does not matter.. so does anyone have a recommendation? and please dont say Photoshop because like i said i'm a noob and PS confused me way too much ^^"

Lightroom

lightroom is more for lighting, hue, saturation, etc effects, i think the OP is looking for something with more tools

 

anyways, gimp and paint tool SAI come to mind

well then photoshop or gimp and look at tutorials

 

they are the next step up from paint ;)

I'd say Photoshop is still the best, mainly because you can easily torrent it for free. Also there are thousands of tutorials out there making it fairly easy to learn.

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

Oh, if you just want to add some effects, (make your pictures sharper, black and white, add a border, add vignetting, ....) Perfect effects is a must have, It is very easy to use, and they give away version 8 for free now the 9 got released.

I'm using zoner 15 at the moment, and it's fairly good, although I've not used it too much, as I don't have the need to do a lot of editing.
