500W for i5 4460 + GTX 970

Hello. I am building a new gaming rig from parts that I will purchase locally. Purchasing date is some time next week. Unfortunately, there aren't many options available in terms of PSU units, but shipping from outside will be costly and risky.

My chosen components:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus H97M-PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston Fury White Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card
Case: Antec GX500 ATX Mid Tower Case
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer
Monitor: LG 22MP55HQ-P 60Hz 22.0" 1080p Monitor

List of available 500W PSUs:

Antec VP-500PC 500W
FSP HEXA 500 500W
Thermaltake Smart SE SPS-530M 530W

The three sell for the same price. I can't seem to find proper reviews for any one them. Between the mentioned trio, which one should I go for?

Never heard of FSP, I think Antec PSUs are good. I wouldn't get a case from them though. In the future please use pcpartpicker :P

Welcome to the forums!

So I would get the antec one.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

80+ 500Watt PSU will be enough for that build, can't speak on those power supplies in particular though.

That being said, don't get a Kingston SSDNow since their newer ones have horrible performance and horrible quality chips in them. Try and find something like a Crucial MX100.

Antec usually has good products, although if there are options locally for lower wattage and still good units, check them out. Honestly 500 watts is much more than needed for a 970.
