Your edit was faster than my reply :D

Deal with it :D

Why is it such an issue that it does not work though. The card only has a consumption of 5-10W during idle which is nothing

it isn't an issue I was just asking out of curiosity :)

Aaaaaah :D.

Zerocore is a godsend if power is a real issue for you yeash but otherwise not very noteworthy unless you run dual GPU setups

I don't know for sure, but for some reason a lot of things don't support HDMI.

#DVIArmy

Seriously, DVI is underrated.

Well since I got a soldier from #DVIArmy here May I ask this :D

If I used converter DVI to HDMI ( since my Monitor has only 2 HDMI and VGA **Sure not gonna use that -_- **) will it give the same image quality !?

Sure , I think so as all it does it transfer the same digital signal to a different output type, what resolution do you use?

Are you using a TV as a display / monitor?

One of my monitors use HDMI, and I don't have an issue with Zero Core. In fact, as I type this now, both my Sapphire cards are just sitting there, none of the fans are spinning.

___________________________________________

Side: My system specs consists of a Vapor-X HD 7970 as the primary card (top card), and a Dual-X HD 7970 as the secondary card. They are in Crossfire mode.

If you haven't already know, HD 7970 = R9-280X.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

My displays are connected using a mix of DVI and HDMI.

The primary (top) card can't completely shut down...because it has to drive the displays, but the secondary (bottom) card goes into "sleep" mode during idle, basic use,  web browsing, etc.

DVI and HDMI are the exact same thing -- digital signals (0's and 1's). HDMI simply carries audio (with extra two pins) as well as video. Well...is also technically newer, as it was invented in the early 2000's, and DVI has been around for ages now. The video quality should be identical.

EDIT: Oh my gawd!! It didn't even come to me.

Zero Core only shuts down the secondary / slave card(s) when not needed. If you only have one card, it doesn't go into complete 0 MHz sleep mode.

(I don't quite get your system specs...is that one card or two?)

Triple or quadruple gaming power with AMD CrossFireX Multi-GPU technology. Increase your gaming performance up to 2x with AMD CrossFire technology, 2.75x for TriFire configurations, or with QuadFire configurations. With AMD ZeroCore Power Technology, the graphics card in slave modes will be switched off in idle to maximize the power saving.

Well I have only one card -_- but it does go into zero core mode :D
