@jonn. Read. Operating system is mostly reading. Write speeds make it faster to install things, but once everything's set up, it effects far less stuff than read speed.

same goes for games, they spend most of their time reading rather than writing (until you save)

is it better to have write speeds or read speeds when running an operating system on it?

it is best to have high 4k iops read and write as that is most of what the is is doing
