I would like to prefer AMD, but there's a lot more on offer in the blue camp when it comes to motherboards and chipset features

You need to compare 8350 vs 3570k/4670k. not a 100$ more expenive and faster cpu :D

in most games the I5 wins against the 8350. If i needed something for productivity i would go with the 8350

It all depends what games you play. The games i play, the difference between the 8350 and the 3570k is so low that there's no point spending the extra for the 3570k, that and I have a feeling that more games will utilise more of the cores avaliable in the future.

There is no way it is better than a 3770k unless you are talking price then and beats everything because of there cheap prices

Yeah I've not seen any evidence that the 8350 is a stronger performer than the 3770k. It may well be in gaming, but we won't find that out for a while yet.

The AMDs are just cheaper by a mile though. It's price that makes them attractive tbh.

The 8350 is a great chip, but AMD aren't quite there yet. I'm really excited for Steamroller. It will probably make me jump back over from Intel.

That is a bad comparison man, the i7 wins, but it is quite a bit more expensive in my country it is 2x cheaper than an i7 4770k and about 45% than an 3770k, and don't listen to what people say about 3770 being slower than an 8350, even the man who started the "why not go 8350" revolution ( Logan ) tested it vs the i7 and it lost, at stock it was just a bit, but when even both are overclocked the i7 wins even more, and the i7 bottlenecked multi gpu configurations less.

Don't get me wrong, i am not Intel biased, i love the 8350, i think that chip is amazing and the only reason why i haven't picked it up is no PCIe 3.0 support, it is not for the gpu, it is for the sound card, future raid card and other cool stuff i want. I will be shopping for a new CPU and MOBO at the end of this year, and i will try to wait for steamroller, I am really excited about that chip, and only if it fails or takes too long to release i will go intel...

most i7 are better then FX 8350, unlocked K i5 have around the same performance, so i would go with 8 cores instead of 4.

I believe that the FX 8350 is better for being productive in programs that need a lot of thread such as editing and things like that. The FX 8350 would be better in multi threaded games and I believe it to be more future proofed than the 3770k. The 3770k is better for stuff like F@H and programs that need strong cores but not many of them. The 3770k also runs a lot hotter than the FX 8350. The 3770k also runs hotter than the 8350 even though it has a lower TDP.

AMD because it's cheaper, and still giving you power.

AND their names are sooo awesome :D

Bulldozer, Piledriver, steamroller vs the "haswell" or "ivy bridge"

For gaming currently intel hold the performance crown but that may change in a few years.

He said price to performance, and NOTHING has the 8350 beat in that area unless you want to get into really old CPUs

Power to performance and price the FX 8320 is the best priced CPU in the world right now and by a HUGE margin.

It's followed by the 8350.

Save some money and pick up an 8350, I haven't noticed a difference between my 8350 and my friends' i7 in games with my gpu in it.

I remember when amd were far quicker than Intel for games, back in the k6 era, i left intel at that time. been back on intel for my last 2 upgrades. would love to see amd back in front to push the technology further. nothing like good competion to get better gaming systems. ;)

I wouldn't even put the 8350 & 4770k in the same category, the price-point is a clear selling factor for the 8350.
