Alphacool 60mm vs 45mm

Hi guys,

how big is the difference on performance between 60mm and 45mm? (Acool nexxos 420mm rads, to be more precise...)

I would be using Corsair's AF140s, and 2 rads...

Thanks for replying,

EMENCII

Up to fans at 1400 RPM the performance difference is negligible.

Depends on what you're cooling.

CPU and GPU... i know would be overkill, but not all the things has to make sense, right? ^^

A 420 rad isn't overkill for a CPU + GPU. It's exactly right. It'll probably dissipate about 300W of heat. A GTX 980 + 4790K for example would be well taken care of with a 420.

I'm talking of 2 420 rads... xD

LOL! Now I see it. Still don't have a problem with it though. If you want 40 degrees load temps while stress testing with Prime 95, more power to you.

Those kind of temps are what everybody should be expecting if they're willing to throw a bunch of money into building a custom loop.

I'm planning on eventually cooling my 4790K and GTX 980 with a 420 XT45 + a 280 UT60.

Is the MCP655 a good pump? There is sth better? I'm looking for silence, more than performance (but having them too is appreciated xD)

The MCP655 (it's still a D5) is a great pump. Doesn't get much quieter than that. The Alphacool VPP655 would also be great. It pushes a whopping 1500 liters per hour. On max but you'd be fine with it on setting 3 for quieter operation.

This is great :D Gives you the option of going for SLI and higher overclocks into the future. Better to go little over kill and have super performance from the start. Good work there!!

Least this way, you wont have a small mountain of rads in the corner, not being used like i have :(
