so im in the process of saving up for a first time home storage server but in the meen time what would you guys consider too be the best free solution for cloud storage the more space the better and also i want too be able to access it by all pcs in my home as well as 2 tablets and 2 cell phones  i was using google drive but cince im saving for this build im not wanting to pay any fees the 5gb limit just wasnt enough

mega is 50gb per acount could make multaple free acounts i here flicker is 1tb but only pictures and movies

Are you only interested in this for backing up data, or for actually accessing your data. I wouldn't recommend keeping data you access frequently over the internet, if the internet goes out you are dead in the water.

 

As far as cloud backup goes, CrashPlan is great, you get unlimited data storage for $4/month. Honestly, it's not expensive given the redundancy you get. I use it and I've already successfully restored data from it. It's effortless.

It's pretty standard. You choose which files/folders to back up when you set up the program. It'll take a one-time full image (takes a while) and do incremental backups. You can get multiple versions of a file if you need an older revision. Plus if you don't want to do cloud backup you can back up your computer to another specified computer running the utility (if you want to use your own offsite server).

thnks for the info somthing to look into got my media collection on a 4tb drive id lvoe to backup saving up for a raid setup

maybe cloud was a bad choice of wording basicly what i want is something like i had on my old acer laptop called clear Fi for sharing the storage i already have to all my devices  i have a small older nas for my backups till i get my server going

once my server is up ill give it a try for some added redundancy tho
