gigabyte 970?

im so close to buying one. i just wanna know if it comes with a backplate. i know it lights up and its worth that extra 20 bucks. but a plate would be even awesomer. so does it have one? 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

EVGA isn't including them for god knows why

im beginning to hate evga lately.  they need some better designs in their cards. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. I like their warranty and customer service so I'll keep buying from them, but these decisions just seem really odd.

 

 

The G1 does for sure, don't know about the regular Windforce card though.

 

The smooth curves look wrong on the ACX 2.0.

 

Looks shouldn't matter about a video card from the fan side since most of everyone's rigs will be seen from the side.

not just that. their design just looks kind of boring. and i dont like the transparent shroud on the special cards.

i have a 650ti boost. that i will be selling. it was a mistake to get a blower design of that card. i just wanna see what the red team offers as well. i used to do this thing where i buy a card from green then red in my next upgrade. so i get a good taste of both. after looking at benchmarks. the 290x still packs a punch.

Hell yes get it. Both G1 and Windforce X3 with a backplate, IMO the best 970s, would rather get better cooling performance and quietness under load then Strix gimmick

im not into the strix. i hate the design. but MSI's new design is fantastic. too bad my build is blue and black and not the usual gamer red.

im not into the strix. i hate the design. but MSI's new design is fantastic. too bad my build is blue and black and not the usual gamer red. 

Mine's blue and black too yas (high five)

 

I hate the Strix too, the design looks awkward and the silent fan thing is largely a gimmick, even with GPU fans running you won't hear it anyways at idle or under low load. You won't notice any difference in noise when not gaming between the Strix and Gigabyte (or even reference for that matter)

i used to fuss about noise on anything. since i record videos. but ever since i learned how to noisegate, idc about anything under 40 dcb now.

actually they plan on selling a backplate as an extra. because money !
