Hi guys,

I was wondering if i can have a setup rad->fan->rad without spaces inbetween the three modules, so i wont need another set of fans, that means more noise. The thickness of the rads would be 60mm each, low fpi density (less than 20)...

(any good silent 140mm fans with high static pressure?)

Won't the downwind rad suffer?

ohh yes sorry you are correct... my mistake  ^_^

Yes there are SP 140 fans.

But they have LEDs and don't have very good cfm or mm/h2o

Much better to go with noctua industrial or noiseblocker.

But so i could? Wouldnt one of the rads suffer? Sticking them toghether isn't a problem... I was thinking on indppc 2000 fans too... ^^

Get noctua industrial fans and you will need custom screws. If your case can fit 145mm thickness in the top go for it.

How would you even bolt all that together? Are there rads that allow screws/bolts to pass completely through?

I think you could mount the first rad to the top of the case and then mount the fans to the top and bottom rad. Not really sure. I guess he could make a bracket for it.

Two major problems I see here: first, you won't be able to screw them together as usual, you'd have to come up with some other way to do it. Secondly, routing the tubing would be very difficult. You would have to have the port-sides of both rads facing away from the middle, which would make connecting the tubing very difficult, assuming you plan to mount the "sandwich" to your case.

That's what I was wondering, how would you fasten it all together.

I have a test bench ^^

And the rads i was looking at have ports literally everywhere (alphacool nexxos and Phyoba G-changer)

Normally a screw goes through both screw holes on the fan and into the rad, but theoretically, you can use a short screw to attach the rad directly to the case, and another short screw and only go through the second fan hole and into the rad (it would be a bitch to screw in, but totally possible.

Maybe if you use thumb screws and have fingers like linus.

It would be hard to put them together since the screws will need to be put through both sides of the fans in between. But it is possible.

You will get the same temps as if you had one rad as an intake and another exhaust.

So should be better 2 45mm rads than 1 rad 80mm?
