Liquid CPU cooling

Hey I just picked up the Corsair h110 CPU cooler and was wondering if you had to install thermal paste before using the cooler?

It should come with some thermal paste on the bottom. (If it's new)

You should see a greyish circle.  Like this:

 Well you still need thermal paste. It comes with it though.

Corsair's AIOs' usually have thermal paste pre-applied, so If there's a grey coating then no additional thermal paste is necessary.

There's a simple way of knowing if the cooler is doing its job, and that is by monitoring the temperatures. 

 

I wouldn't automatically remove pre-applied thermal paste and apply your own. Install it with the pre-applied paste and monitor temperatres; if all is in check then it's fine.

well. I don't have any problems with my h80i's coolingcapabilities. it keeps at iddle a nice 42 degree on a i7 4790k @ 4.6 Ghz
