Momentum in-ear vs cheaper ones?

I am looking for some in-ear headphones and I have narrowed it down to the "new" Momentum in-ear on the high end and a pair of CX series on the low end. Obviously both are still quite expensive £40 for the CX and £80 for the Momentums i'm just wondering if it would be worth the jump for just college and general use?
