So here I am on my 3500th post and i really dont care about the number but i figured i would make a reason for this so that is my reason, kind of a weak one but nonetheless its the reason im sticking to :D

 

So for my 3500th post i figured i would say thank you and the story as to why i am so thankful to all of you. Now warning this might be a little depressing or what ever but i see you guys as family and i feel that i can share anything with you so here it goes.

 

So Before I joined this community or started watching linus' videos I had a few problems in my life that i thought i would never overcome. So it started in around 4th grade i was like 9 or so im not sure, and i was kind of a popular kid at school and then this one kid started bulling me and calling me gay and all these things and at first i kinda said oh what ever hes just making up words, so then i asked what gay was and my mom told me and apparently every kid asked the same question the same day i did because when i went to school the next day. None of my friends would look at me, no body would talk to me, kids would shove things out of my hands and push me around and what not, and so this continued until around 10th grade and the only reason it ended was because i had health problems and had to attend online school. and i only had around 2 friends and they were pretty cool but i never had any classes or lunch hours with them so i was still being bullied with no friends and no one to help me, i felt like i was in a rut, i couldnt get out of my hole i thought i was good at nothing and that i was a useless (pardon my language) piece of shit that couldnt do anything right and had no future, i became suicidal. I didnt want to commit suicide because i felt that that would be selfish and that me mom and dad would have to live with the burden i Put in them and i thought that even after death i would still be a screw up. so I sat with the idea of killing myself going back and forth in my head for almost a year, i went to so many psychiatrists and not a single one helped. so then i started to lock myself in my room and watched youtube videos non stop, then after watching a bunch of minecraft and chivalry videos i decided i wanted to try and win a gaming PC so i looked on youtube and came across a a channel named "Unbox therapy" and they were doing a gaming PC giveaway and so i entered and i wished with all my might that i would win and after months of him postponing the announcement of the winner... i didnt win I was crushed but i continued to watch for a few more weeks and then he did this giveaway with some scrawny High energy guy named linus and little did i know this was the best youtube channel ever, i subscribed to it to try and win the giveaway and i started watching his videos and then i decided "ya know what? im going to build my own PC" and so i start looking for guides and what not and i came across NCIX Tech tips and i noticed hey that scrawny guy is there too, hm, so after months of doing research i finally have a build completed and i decide to watch the live stream for the first time and they talk about a place called "linustechtips.com" and so i go and join and i post my build and like 2 minutes after i post some guy handing a rabbit a beer named "windspeed36" answers and shoots down everything i had chosen, and so i ask him what was wrong and he helps me find new parts and whatnot, and then i really start getting interested in computers so i become more active in the community and i read more and more and watch more and more videos and then I finally get another build and i post that and everyone says its good and what not, so then i keep tinkering and tinkering with the design and getting help from the community and learn more and more.  

 

I have went from thinking i was worthless and had no future and now i know that i want to work in computers and STILL my computer isnt done.

 

I am afraid that without all of you and your support I wouldnt be here right now and i think what i would have missed out on, and i cant even begin to describe how thankful I am to each and everyone of you and though the story didnt make sense the gist of it is that i went from crap to a person that has something he feels he can live for and has friends like these that make him feel so amazing inside that i cant contain it.

So ya sorry if it was depressing but i had to take it off my chest and i feel 1000lbs lighter now that i got it off my chest.

I remember when you had a couple hundred and windspeed36 had 1,200+.... Maybe I should be more active in this forum... :D Congratulations on getting 3,500 posts and being the overall top poster by almost 1,000 posts. :D Maybe you should put on your achievements on your signature.

I don't know what to say mate, I'm so glad you're in the community and even though I'm older than you, I think of you as an older brother, haha XD, so glad to here you have found the thing that makes you proud to be who you are, a TECHY !!! :D great to see you get to so many posts and I hope this will be just the begginning :)

I had a similar experience except that it ended when I went to high school because all of the idiots went to private schools and my best bud came with me. :D

Threads like this is another reason why I like this community so much, on the others I've been on they seem sterile and well just crap if I'm honest but here there is no much respect for your fellow man and woman, it makes a refreshing change :)

Congratulations on overcoming a difficult period in your life, everyone goes through them. But its how you deal with it to come out the other side.

 

Continue to persue IT whether it be career or just for fun and good luck.
